Nan started school in Glenelg in February 1947. During the family's years at [Sth Purrumbete](/places/south-purrumbete-victoria) she attended Millicent HS and later bussed to [Camperdown](/places/camperdown-victoria) HS, where she met John Walsh (who used the same bus).
