Cath and her mother emigrated from Scotland as nominated assisted immigrants to South Australia (SA records GRG7/10, unit 39c, File 3798). The passenger list is held. [Norman MacLeod](/people/norman-macleod-b1880) had already returned to Australia (reportedly ~2 years earlier) and had begun his lighthouse career at [Cape Jaffa](/places/cape-jaffa-lighthouse) in February 1927.
