John Foggo Whillas kept a diary of the voyage, which survives in the family collection (held by Janet Wilkin) — see [John Foggo Whillas voyage diary](/documents/john-foggo-whillas-voyage-diary). His brother [Charles Bailie Whillas](/people/charles-bailie-whillas-b1848) followed a year later, leaving [Edinburgh](/places/edinburgh-scotland) for Adelaide in October 1869.
